Learning As Service

Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 12:00 PM until 1:00 PMCentral Standard Time UTC -06:00

    Presented by Phil Jones

Did you know the MS in Operations Management (MSOM) program includes opportunities for students to practice what they are learning, while also helping a local for-profit business, non-profit organization, or public-sector agency develop a strategic plan? Some sections of the "OMGT 5623 – Strategic Management" course have been designated as a Service-Learning course. In these sections, students have the opportunity to assume the role of business strategy consultants and work with a real client to evaluate the external and internal challenges to the client’s business, develop strategic management recommendations, and then present those recommendations to the executive leadership of the client’s organization.

If you are a prospective student, a current student in the MSOM program, teaching other courses and are interested in how to develop a Service-Learning class, or if you are in a strategy leadership position in an organization which could benefit from having graduate-level students, many of whom already have significant work experience in a variety of organization, assist with strategy evaluation, selection, and management, join us for “Learning as Service,” the next installment in the Engineering & Operations Management webinar series.

We look forward to seeing you!
